Yoga therapy is the application of yogic practices and principles to support healing or symptom relief from a health condition. Yoga therapy works with the whole person - mind, body and spirit - to guide you back to a place of balance.

My work sits at the meeting point of spirituality and science, combining evidence-based practices and ancient wisdom, Eastern philosophy alongside neuroscience. I work with a range of teachings and techniques, including movement, breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, self-enquiry, deep relaxation, sound, mantra, mudra and more, to support you to move towards a place of mental, physical and spiritual balance.

“The sessions with Laura were transformative to a degree that I could never have expected. I have been doing talk therapy for some years and could not anticipate how complimentary, productive and insightful this added path would be. Laura is a profoundly intuitive and compassionate therapist with a zest and energy for life and her ability to both steer and let people express themselves is admirable. These sessions gave me a completely new relationship with my body, my self as a whole and a sense of self-expression and self-acceptance that I had never before felt in my life.”

My work is intuitive and client-focussed, with sessions co-created and wholly informed by you and your goals. I will always endeavour to foster a safe, open and compassionate space for you to show up as your full and complete self.

Yoga therapy can be used to heal or relieve the symptoms of a wide range of mental and physical health challenges, and I have specific interest in and experience of working with:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Menstrual Disorders such as Endometriosis, Dysmenorrhoea & PMDD

  • ADHD

  • Insomnia

  • Trauma

  • Chronic Stress

  • Chronic Pain

  • While all yoga is indeed therapeutic, not all yoga is therapy. A yoga therapy session differs from a one-to-one yoga class by:

    • Looking at the whole person - body, mind and spirit - and selecting practices and techniques that will impact every layer of a person

    • Including opportunities for discussion, self-enquiry and reflection

    • Specifically tailored to working with health conditions, with yoga therapists undertaking many hours of training on how to work specifically with a wide range of health conditions

  • Sessions are completely tailored to you, your goals and your needs. We work closely together and I encourage lots of self-enquiry and self-reflection. This means that we can ensure that our work is continuously shifting and evolving to be of the highest value to you.

For example, in a session we might explore:

    • Increasing your sense of safety within your body

    • Breathing techniques to support a more functional breathing pattern

    • Regulating your nervous system and downgrading your fear response

    • Increasing your confidence and self-esteem

    • Increasing your tolerance to discomfort in a safe and supportive way

From there, the sessions can continue to grow and develop depending on your wants and needs.

  • A free initial 15-minute phone call - this allows me to get a better sense of what you're looking for and allows you to ask any questions you might have.

A new client agreement and detailed intake form - If we decide to go ahead with our work together, I will send you a new client agreement and an in-depth intake form to complete and return to me via email before our first session. The intake form helps me to understand your history and your goals in order to tailor sessions completely to you.

An initial 60 or 90-minute session - 90-minutes is recommended for the first session to allow time for a consultation and to introduce our work together.

A minimum of 5 further sessions - 6 regular sessions is recommended to start to see profound changes from yoga therapy. After this we have the option to review and book in further sessions.

  • Yoga therapy sessions currently take place either online via Zoom, or in-person at Revive Yoga, Balham, SW12 9AN.

Please note that the therapy room at Revive is accessed by stairs only. If an accessible option is required please let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you!

“I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD, I struggle with anxiety and depression and I have been in the process of finding the causes and solutions for my painful periods for a few years now. Laura was incredibly understanding of my needs right from the start and also able to provide me with tools that actually worked for me and fit into my “routine”. I felt seen and understood during every session. Laura’s attention to detail and compassion made me feel truly supported and empowered. Laura has been able to help me restore faith in myself and reminded me of how capable and powerful I am. I feel less afraid to deal with discomfort, pain and the issues that impact me daily. I also feel very proud of what I have accomplished so far and I am excited for what’s to come. Thank you so, so much Laura, thanks to you I am more capable of supporting and caring for myself when things get hard.”
